A Wedding at the Langham London
Back in August 2019 I travelled into London to film Ed and Hannah’s wedding at the Langham. We’d Skyped a month earlier to run through all the important details and I was excited to be heading back the capital again.
I often tell my couples when we chat beforehand to enjoy every second of the day because is passes so quickly. If ever a wedding demonstrated this, it was Ed and Hannah’s. Although packed with every important aspect you’d expect for a luxury wedding with over 200 guests, It went by in a heartbeat.
Ed and Hannah’s Jewish wedding ceremony started at 4pm which is typically late for a British ceremony. Guests streamed into the outdoor garden and surrounded their chuppah on all four sides. The afternoon sunshine and the accompaniment of city ambience made this experience unique. I’ve shot dozens of outdoor ceremonies and dozens of city centre weddings but Ed and Hannah’s wedding at the Langham managed to combine both in a truly beautiful way.
After an hour enjoying champagne in the garden we all moved indoors. Great food, exceptional hospitality and a kick ass band took us through to the end of the night. Did I mention the ballroom dancing lesson laid on for every single guest in between courses?
Watch the film and enjoy x
Meet the Couple – Ed and Hannah
Why do you want to capture your wedding at the Langham?
We want a video and photographs to remember our special day. For my family (Hannah) it is really rare that everyone is able to get together (I am 1 of 7 siblings) and so I want it captured! We also want to be able to send the video out to some of our guests.
Why did you choose me?
You were recommended by Toby Lockerbie.
We also wanted someone who was creative, experienced and outstanding at what they do. We also wanted someone who is discreet and able to capture a more natural look.
You guys… What do you do for a living? How do you spend your days when you’re not planning your Langham wedding? What’s important in life?
Ed – works in property and has is own business. When he is not at work, he is salsa dancing or going to the gym.
Hannah – Art and Textiles teacher. When I am not at work, I design my own jewellery, make paintings, crochet, anything creative! I also go salsa dancing with Ed and go to the gym a lot.
Important in life – family is very important but also nurturing mind, body and soul
Was there a proposal? Tell me all the details.
Ed proposed whilst on a romantic trip together in Surrey. It wasn’t a choreographed proposal but was very special. We had a lovely weekend and were driving back to London when he parked the car overlooking a beautiful green field. It was raining so he decided to propose in the car and pulled put a box he said was a present to remember the trip. I opened it and he proposed.
The venue. Why did you choose a wedding at the Langham above anywhere else?
Ed has always liked the Langham Hotel. We have been to the bar on a few dates together but never knew the hotel had an outdoor courtyard. I have always wanted to get married outside, so the hotel was the perfect choice.
What experience do you want to give your guests?
We want our family and friends to have the best experience :) We will be hiring in a salsa teacher to give a short class because we want everyone on the dance floor! We have hired an excellent band as well- one that doesn’t just play on the side but actually gets in there with everyone- dances on the chairs and tables!
Also, my sisters are professional musicians. Rachel will be playing clarinet at the start of the ceremony and then Holly and Louise will be singing as I walk down the aisle. We are really keen to capture this in the photos/videos.

Thank you so much for everything – it made me cry!
So beautifully created and we are just so very grateful for the work you have done – it has brought back many happy memories from our wedding at the Langham.

Zerrin + Viktor
If you like Ed and Hannah’s wedding at the Langham we think you’ll also love Zerrin and Viktor’s day at the Ned. It’s a real tear jerker. An emotional day from start to finish, these guys really showed us how to give a good speech.
