Tom + Julia // whos wedding?….. Inglewood Manor Wedding Video Cheshire
(jumpy video? – turn off the HD)
It’s no secret that I was a little excited about Tom and Jules wedding in the 12 months since we first made contact. Julia’s request for a completely black and white old school rock n roll video with a pretty awesome song inspired me no end. My clients normally offer me the traditional, tea or coffee when we first meet. In Tom’s case my beverage offerings were a rather fine selection of real ales. I opted for a bishop’s finger and we spent the next few hours discussing wedding videos and guitars. It was ace, and I knew immediately that the day would be equally as awesome.
I was slightly worried on the day as setting off from up North the weather was shocking. I picked up Tom and Julia’s Wedding Photographer for the day – the very talented Karli Harrison – www.karliharrisonphotography.co.uk and we headed of through the fog to Cheshire. We needn’t have worried as when we arrived the bad weather had cleared and conditions were perfect!
The wedding was set at the beautiful Inglewood Manor in Cheshire. I absolutely love the place and have had the pleasure of working there on a number of occasions. The grounds are simply stunning with woodland paths, lakes, and stone arches, steps and columns galore. Whether working as a photographer or wedding videographer there, it sure does make life easier having such a delightful scenery to work with.
Julia arrived by horse and carriage just after 1:30 and walked down the aisle to a simple acoustic guitar and vocal rendition of a classic Eva Cassidy song. There were few dry eyes in the house, including Tom and Julia who were both just a little tearful when glancing at each other for the fist time. The ceremony featured two beautiful readings including the timeless Apache wedding blessing. The lines, ‘Now you are two bodies, But there is one life before you’ fitting perfectly. The tears did however progress to laughter for a moment when Tom accidently proclaimed it was “..my wedding” during the vows. Another classic wedding moment for the archive.
Following the ceremony, everyone filtered outside to greet the newlyweds with bubbles and hugs, whilst the kids got to feed the horses with baskets of carrots. It was a perfect touch, and one that I couldn’t resist filming.
As the weather had been kind to us so far, we decided that it would probably be best to attempt some filming and photos of the happy couple before our luck turned. We invited Tom and Julia to stroll around the grounds for a moment, whist I attempted some over ambitious steady-cam shots and Karli simply captured some completely natural photographs of them enjoying their first moments alone as man and wife.
As we headed back we almost missed what turned out to be the most priceless moment of the day. An Impromptu Irish Jig featuring, well, pretty much everyone. We fought through the crowds to obtain a decent vantage point on stage with the band and captured everything. From nowhere the room erupted into an explosion of song and dance with everyone completely caught up in the moment. The room was dancing like no one was watching. It was another of those moments that you can never plan, but will always remain one of the best memories you have of the day.
Today was a fantastic wedding that featured a mainly classic approach, filled with many little personal moments of magic that completely put Tom and Julia’s stamp on things. Tom and Julia’s table plan summed this up perfectly….. beautifully crafted ornate trees lined with miniature roses and silver, displaying the names of ROCK GODS like Nirvana, Kiss, ACDC and many more.
To say we enjoyed ourselves today was an understatement. I had packed up the car to go home on the evening and 10 minutes later found myself back on the edge of the dance floor camera in hand, not wanting to miss another moment. We were looked after from start to finish by everyone, especially Julia’s Mum who made sure we wanted for nothing. It was a pleasure to be there and a great start to 2012.
