I knew from very early on that Chris and Kelly’s wedding would be a very emotional affair and I really wanted to put this across through their film….I remember speaking to Chris and his Dad on the evening of their wedding about how I would decide on a style to base the film. This question comes up quite a lot, and I generally give the same answer. The style of my films generally reflect the overall mood of the day. Yes, every wedding is a celebration, and they are all beautiful in different ways. The thing is, some weddings are the ultimate party from start to finish, some are laid back with a hazy sunshine vibe and yes, some are emotional. I believe that if I’m doing my job properly then my wedding videos should completely reflect how the day went. However, what I find interesting is that as a wedding videographer (or, wedding cinematographer) I base my longer (DVD) films around the audible content of the day. For example the speeches, the vows and maybe the odd reading of a letter or text message. You always hope that these are good and provide you with the golden moments you need to tell the story of the couple’s day.  Every so often a wedding comes around where the speeches are that emotional that it doesn’t really seem fair to offer this for public display. To be honest a teary speech would make an amazing foundation for a heart renching wedding film and Chris and Kelly’s speeches were overflowing with emotion. I was even close to shedding a little man-tear my self at times. My personal thoughts are that these moments should really remain private and for the eyes of the family only. So sorry guys, you’ll have to make do with the short teaser.

A father with his two beautiful daughters. I think the look of joy on his face is obvious as he seen Kelly for the 1st time on her special day. I love capturing these moments.

I loves me a good military wedding. My only problem was that once Chris was ready, there was no way in a million years he was going to undo all those buttons and belts to fit his radio mic on. I had to make do with hiding it in a bouquet.

You may also notice that Kelly never stopped beaming from ear to ear for the full day.

Normally it’s a bride-to-be or on the odd occasion a husband-to-be who contacts me to discuss their wedding videography. On this occasion however it was Jamie’s (our groom) Mum who first gave me a call. I still to this day call her my biggest fan as I haven’t yet spoken to anyone as excited and as complimentary as she was!

Jamie and Amanda married on beautiful Thursday afternoon at the rather nice Beeston Manor in Lancashire. The day was a wonderful, chilled out affair from start to finish which I think really shows in the final wedding video. The weather was exceptionally good for April and the hazy sunshine stayed with us until the end. (the Sunrise over Preston at the start of the wedding film was actually the sunset over Preston at the end of the day)

When I arrived at the venue in the morning the wonderful staff at the manor had prepared the ceremony room to one of the best standards I have ever seen. The beautifully converted barn with rustic beams and bright open windows was decorated throughout with Amanda’s slightly quirky (but not too much) theme of bright pink with black and white polka dots. As time was on my side I grabbed amanda’s dress, hung it from one of the beams and took a few creative shots of the room.

The day flowed seamlessly through, with everyone enjoying the relaxed atmosphere created by the family team at Beeston Manor (seriously, nothing was too much for them)

After the ceremony, everyone simply enjoyed the occasion for a few hours. Whilst the music, sunshine (and alcohol) kept the guests amused, I managed to borrow Amanda and Jamie for about twenty minutes to complete some nice shots around the manor. My obsession with corrugated iron also continued as I found a rather nice cattle shed to use as a backdrop for a few artistic shots of Amanda.

I love weddings like this. You can’t always guarantee sunshine, but when it comes, combined with a late start and everything being in one place, it almost always equals a really chilled out wedding day.

Here’s a few screen grabs from the non-vintage wedding footage!

For the 2nd time in as many weeks I was pleased to be back in Liverpool to film the beautiful wedding of Jackie and Rob. In fact, not only was I back in Liverpool, I was back in the same venue. The Huge and quite delightful Conservatory that is the Isla Gladstone (remember the Same Day Edit wedding video I posted a few weeks ago?) I’ve said it before but I really love this place. There’s loads of room so you can pretty much move around freely with out being the slightest bit intrusive, plus, as it’s like a greenhouse it’s always bright and full of lovely diffused light.

Anyway, the previous weeks adventures left me feeling a little nervous that I’d simply repeat the same stuff that I’d already filmed. I needn’t have worried as the attention to detail that Jackie had given to her wedding day was astonishing. I must have spent about 45 minutes in the Isla Gladstone alone, capturing each and every special touch. I won’t list everything but I’ll put together a little montage of screen grabs just to show you how fab it was. I can only imagine the hours spent hand crafting everything!

I first met Jackie and Rob well over 12 months ago, when we discussed their wedding videography requirements over a cuppa. The idea of producing a vintage / retro / 60’s inspired wedding video was something that really appealed to them and I was more than happy to throw my hat into the ring and embrace their videography challenge.

I must thank Jackie and Rob’s wedding photographer for the day, the wonderful KJP images http://kjpimages.co.uk/ who again, made the project so much more easier to complete by working as team for the full day. Cheers guys, it was a pleasure.

Also, Jackie and Rob – You were Ace! A pleasure to work with and heaps of fun and laughter all day long. I also apologies for the amount of kissing I made you do! Just remember it was all for art
