Gaynes Park looked delightful when I first arrived early on the morning of the wedding. Having spent some time capturing Tim and Jerusha’s preparations at the nearby Marriott Hotel Waltham Abbey Hotel I arrived at the venue with plenty of time to spare. The orangary at Gaynes Park was already beautifully decorated when I arrived in readiness for the wedding. The Pastel green shades, tiled floors and beautiful up scalled chairs lent an almost Mediterranean feeling to proceedings. The room was finished ofF simply with roses on every chair alongside miniature bubble blowers which guests were invited to use as an alternative to confetti. The sun was the brightest it had been all year and according to my light readings their was no difference between outdoors and indoors.

Our photographer for the day was the very talented Hamish Jordan. The Mr Cool of the industry who’s very relaxed // modern style, tilt shift obsession and ‘camera straps look stupid’ attitude make him one of the best wedding photography choices out there. Seriously go check him out.

Jerusha appeared through a gateway in the distance, at the end of the long gravel path that leads directly to the doors of the orangary. The walk seemed to take close to a minute, with the guests peering excitedly through the huge glass panels, following each nervous step. It’s a set up that I’ve never seen before in any Uk wedding venue. It was fabulous and again, almost continental.

The wedding ceremony was joyous and personal and was led by a close family friend of Tim and Jerusha’s. Gaynes park is also unique in the way that wedding guests are seated either side of the couple. It felt like the guests were part of the celebrations rather than spectators. Songs were sang with passion and tears were shed. It was beautiful.

Canapés and wedding photographs followed as the sound of a hundred conversations were amplified by the acoustics of the orangery. Hot on the heels of Hamish I joined Tim and Jerusha for a relaxed wander around Gaynes Park. In the distance, we could just make out central London with the Shard dominating the skyline. Once our videography and photography requirements were met, we left Tim and Jerusha to enjoy a few quiet moments to themselves as we retreated in readiness for speeches. The barn in which Tim and Jerusha’s wedding breakfast was served was stunning. Huge open beams and fairy lights gave the room a warm rustic charm. Grace was delivered, everyone was treated to a soulful vocal performance and food was served.
