a bit more about me.....
me….. I’m 29 and have been married for nearly 14 years to my childhood sweet heart Lesley. Ironically we married so young that the newly launched channel 5 wanted to film the day as part of a documentary about young love (We said nooo thanks by the way)
We met at school where she fell for my huge 90’s indie hair and guitar playing antics and we’ve been smitten ever since. 15 years on, we still enjoy ‘date day’ every Thursday even if it’s just to talk about the kids, of which we have 2. Both girls aged 12 and 7.
We live in sleepy Lancaster and when I’m not travelling the country filming weddings I enjoy many things including – listening to old records, red wine, most things outside, football, the seaside, coffee, peace and quiet and yes, obviously cameras.
my style….. Rather than follow the traditional old-school videographer approach of just filming hours and hours of everything that passes in front of me, I prefer to work flat out capturing hundreds of short bursts of beautiful moments. The reactions, the glances, the smiles, the laughter. Always discreet and using a camera no bigger then the photographer’s, I combine a mixture of documentary style natural filming alongside beautifully crafted and sought out cinematic shots.
For me, the perfect wedding is one that runs naturally, without anyone ever having to stop what they are doing to be filmed or photographed. The day is about the people not the video and I work to integrate myself seamlessly into the day. An amazing film or set of photographs is useless if following the wedding all everyone can talk about was how pushy the videographer was. I’d much rather feel part of the celebrations and get on with everyone, rather than feeling like an outsider peering in with a big lens.
